ROCKY SMITH is part of Oregon City & Oregon City is part of him...

Born at Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City, Rocky has lived in Oregon City for all of his 41 years and teaches Art at his alma mater, Oregon City High School. Rocky is small business owner who has always immersed himself in civic activities. Rocky's strong commitment to our community and his understanding of Oregon City's history and people motivate him to work hard to make Oregon City an even better place to live, work and raise a family. Rocky grew up in a family of public employees; his mother worked for the School District, father was an Oregon City Police Officer and his grandfather worked at the mill across the river. In 2013, Rocky was named Oregon City's Citizen of the Year by the City of Oregon City and January 4, 2017 was proclaimed "Rocky Smith Jr. Day" by the Mayor of Oregon City. Rocky has always been heavily involved in the community and for the past 25 years I have worked hard as a leader in Tourism and Historic Preservation. Rocky has been a strong Advocate for Public Safety and Youth Programs. Rocky was elected to the City Commission in 2008 and served two terms on the Commission.
